KY Smiles Episode 15
An interdisciplinary team of UK health care providers joined together to positively impact the health of Casey County elementary-aged children with funding support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Working with the community, the team focused on providing tools that targeted five elements of health:
· Preventing illness/injuries and risky behaviors;
· Emphasizing the importance of oral health;
· Abstaining from all tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes);
· Eating healthy/nutritious foods; and
· Emphasizing the importance of physical activity.
